Shayla School – Aerial fabric & Aerial hoop

Isabelle Delle Castelle, a nurse by training, is an aerial artist and acrobat, choreographer, director, sports coach and therapist. Artistic director of Cie Shayla, she founded Shayla School in 2005, a body expression school in the south of Charleroi.

There she taught Egyptian oriental dance, fitness, yoga and pilates. Since 2016 Shayla School has been located in Brabant Wallon, where she mainly teaches fabric and aerial hoop classes for young and old.

She will take part in the Performing Arts World Championship as an aerial acrobat in Los Angeles WCOPA 2025. With the concept of the Amazon Warrior Woman: WONDER WOMAN

Isabella founded her school to teach the art of Oriental dance, with its oriental rhythms to the sound of the derbouka, a percussion instrument, to children (from the age of 4) and adults. From Nubian dance to Bellydance, Isabella Delle Castelle, artistic director of Shayla School, uses her teaching skills to develop the technique required to perform the movements. With over 200 students, the school organises a number of shows to showcase the different styles learnt in class.

In 2009, accompanied by her oriental orchestra and dancers, she inaugurated her first ‘Cabaret Oriental’ at the Botanique in Brussels. It was also presented in 2010 with her company live at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris. In 2011, she presented ‘Cabaret Oriental 2011’ with her company and her orchestra Noujoum Casablanca at the Théâtre 140 in Brussels. She also teaches her classes and performs her various pieces on stages across the continents (Asia, Europe, USA, Africa).

Then, for an artistic project at the age of 40, Isabella discovered aerial silk. It’s a discipline she’s passionate about. She perfected her skills with professional aerial artists, teaching them and presenting her paintings at various events.

In 2016, Shayla School changed its logo and opened its doors in an idyllic setting at the Grand Spinois farm in Bierghes (Rebecq). As well as belly dance classes, Shayla School offers group and private classes in body expression – dance and well-being classes based on the ‘Shayla method’ for teenagers and adults: Cuban salsa, Latin zumba, contemporary dance, ragga, fitness, yoga, group sophrology, aerial tissu, Pilates, hatha yoga and prenatal yoga.

Trained as a sports coach, Isabella Delle Castelle offers private sports coaching lessons.

As well as aerial silks, Isabella is perfecting her aerial acrobatics on various apparatus such as rope, aerial hoop and aerial straps, and began giving classes in September 2016 for children and adults.

For her, aerial fabric has become a discipline as profound and intense as oriental dance. She continues to explore it in solo, duo and with her company Shayla, creating shows for a variety of events. She has created 3 parts of ‘Femmes guerrières’, ‘Eclats de feu’ and other shows. She also combines pyrotechnics with her training in fire techniques. She presents her shows at various festivities, events and festivals. In duo with her partners, she has created ‘Chrysalide’ and ‘Angels’, ‘Entre l’air et le feu’ and other made-to-measure shows. She sometimes plays the role of ‘porter’ and sometimes that of ‘voltigeuse’. She has performed in a variety of venues and theatres: Tour et Taxi, theatres in Nivelles, Liège and Uccle, the sucrerie in Wavre, etc.

In 2024, she created and directed her first Cabret Circus for Cocof, with various artists from her company.

That same year, she also met a musician from Hand Pan, with whom she created an aerial silk act. This duo was presented live at various events: Silk en Pan

In 2024, she joined a new musical comedy, ‘Once upon a time, there was a fairy tale’, in which she performed a number of aerial acts: aerial silks, aerial hoops and aerial straps.ournée en Belgique mars et avril 2025

At 52, Isabella has twice won first place in the Pro/Elite category at international competitions in Italy in 2024.

Isabella continues to grow and expand her creativity along a lifelong path where there is no end.
